With March about to go out…like a lion or maybe a lamb…we come to the end of the 3rd quarter of the school year. Spring break begins on April 3 and when we resume classes on April 10, it will be a sprint to the finish of the 2016-2017 school year.
April is testing month—SAT, PSAT and MSTEP are taken by students in grades 3 – 11. It is important that students are well-rested and ready for the tests. Please help by making sure your student has a good breakfast after a good night’s sleep. Our various grade level teachers will be spending time helping kids get excited about doing their best. You can help by focusing on the importance of effort and of not giving up.
The final quarter calendar is available on the website and it is absolutely full of events, from track meets to baseball/softball games to concerts to graduation activities. Please take a moment to check on upcoming activities. The school district and PTO host the annual W-M Craft Fair on Saturday, April 29 with dozens of venders, crafters and raffles.
Parents of seniors, graduation will be here in the blink of an eye. Upcoming events for our graduates include the senior banquet on May 3—an elegant evening at which the seniors show their appreciation for the school personnel that have helped them get this far. May 22 is the honors assembly for grades 7-12. This is when the scholarships are presented to the seniors. Thursday, May 25 is Baccalaureate—seniors and family members are invited to attend the event hosted by area clergy. And Friday, May 26 at 6:00 p.m. we have the main event—graduation of the Class of 2017.
Enjoy all of the spring events—athletic and academic. We’ll be out for summer vacation before we know it!
